Spray Painting Door Hinges

We just finished the last part of the basement.  We bought some doors to put in and when we got home realized that they had silver hinges instead of bronze like the rest of the house.  So instead of returning all of the doors (aka: pain in the butt), I went and got some bronze spray paint and painted them all.  Kind of tedious, but it worked.  It has been about a month since I painted them and so far they are holding up!

Living Rooms & Baths

Once again I got these pictures from Country Living.  Just some great rooms with a little inspiration!

I love the serene colors and the tub flanked by the curtains.

I thought this was a fun cabinet for a bathroom.  The color, the style and the wire in the doors.

Love the bead board height on the walls.  Also love the table on the left in place of a vanity.  And look at the shelves with the baskets!

Really like the fireplace being centered in the middle of the wall.  Love the ceiling, the wood floors and the openess of the room.

I love a lot about this room.  Again the fireplace in the middle.   I just think it is so much easier to place furniture in a room with it that way.  The built in's on each side, the pictures above the mantel, the colors of the room and those ginormous windows!

I am in love with the staircase!  I am a sucker for them!  I am loving the window above the door, the shabby dresser next to the door, and the mirrors on the wall going up the stairs.

I found a book case at the thrift store today that was just the perfect size that I needed!  YEAH!  I will be putting it in my daughter's room that I am just finishing up!  Stay tuned for the results!

Inspirational Country Living Kitchen's

I found these pictures yesterday on Country Living.  I thought these were some great pictures.  I am just loving the light and airy feel everyone is going for.  I may just have to start slowly changing my decor!
I love the walnut colored island with the white cabinets.  And those ceiling beams are so neat.  I would love some of those.  I think the only thing I would change is the lights.  The style is great, just not so much into the brass.

I would love this pantry door if the inside of my pantry looked like this one!

I love the bead board on the ceiling in this kitchen!  And the table for the island!

I am trying to figure out how to do this on my fridge and make it look as good as this.

I love this whole picture!  The chalkboard on the pantry door, the white dishes, the whole organization of the pantry.  I just think the whole thing is great!

Thrift Find

I found this picture the other day at the thrift store for a whopping $5!  It matches my boys' bathroom perfect!  This rust color is in the tile and countertops! Not bad for 5 bucks!  Have a Thrifty Thursday~!

Thrift Shop Finds

I found Two of these sweet ugly looking little corbels at the thrift store for $1!  The gold and the marbel just makes me want to vomit!  But I could see something else in these.  So they came home with me.

I got out my trusty can of primer and spray paint and this is what they turned in to.

I have this wall of black and white pictures in my Family Room.  I love them because they are of my Granparents and Parents when they were younger and some of my kids.  They cover quite a long wall and they look ok by themselves, but.....

I think they look even better with the corbels hung on the sides.  I love these little thrift finds!

Thrift Store Finds

I had the itch to go to the thrift store the other day and this is just one of the great items I found!  We have had our table set for 10 years now and it is getting quite worn out!!  I can't yet justify buying a nice new one that I would want because I know my kids are too young still!  One of the chairs broke and my card table chair was just not looking the best sitting at the table.  So I saw this sturdy, all wood chair and decided it would make a great addition to our table set.

I primed it and then spray painted it black.  Very Easy! I have not yet covered the seat cushion.  I need to  decided on a fabric.  I also painted my table white.  It used to be black and I just needed a change.  My island is cream with a brown glaze on it and the bar stools are black.  I thought it would fun to do the same to the table.  I still need to find another chair similar to the one I just found so that I can have one at the other end of the table.  Guess I will have to go shopping some more!

Fun Witch

My daughter wanted to be a witch this Halloween .  I thought I knew what I was going to do until I couldn't find the toile skirt I had made last year.  So I had these cute petti skirts, that I sell, and decided to use  this cute pink and black one.
Then I looked at some outfits on the internet and this is what we came up with:
I had a plain black hat in my halloween stuff.  We took some toile, ribbon, and a flower and hot glued them on.  Then I got online and watched a tutorail on how to make spiders out of pipe cleaners.  We made a cute one and glued it on to a black ribbon and then glued it on to the top of her hat so that it would hang down.  She had on a black shirt with a skull made out of rhinestones that we ironed on, her petti skirt and her cape that we made.  All in all I think that it turned out pretty cute for a last minute project!
